Abstract
“Life is a series of thoughts. We become what we think about. We can choose what we think about” Your thoughts determine how you experience your life. If you had a power of positive thinking then you will be able to face whatever comes to you, yet remains light. Everyone leads life but the man who thinks, lives life and the man who creatively implements what he thinks, Live Life Light, Introduction to thought process. Mind is the Master-power that molds and makes, And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:-- He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass: Environment is but his looking-glass Thinking is the most used and under estimated power. Thinking is something we do every day, even at night we still think (Dreaming). But how conscious are we of our thoughts and the effects they have on us and others? Do you know your own thoughts and thought patterns? Do you, for instance, know what you thought in the last 5min? Do you know what kind of thought you usually have? Are the fast and chaotic or peaceful and orderly? Do you know the average amount of thoughts you had created in a day? Thinking is the activity of the mind which is the organ of consciousness that creates mental pictures, self-talk, feelings and state of being. It includes imagination, fantasy, reaction and responses to sense impressions as well as association, sensitivity to sound, pictures, fragrance, touch and taste. The mind is externally driven by sensory input and internally driven by memories, association and sanskaras. This little volume the result of meditation and experience is not intended as an exhaustive treatise on the much-written-upon subject of the power of thought. It is suggestive rather than explanatory, its object being to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that-- "They themselves are makers of themselves" by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage; that mind is the master-weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may have hitherto woven in ignorance and pain they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness, Introduction to Spirituality. By James Allen Spirituality deals with issues of inner beliefs and feelings, and is closely associated with religion and philosophy. The essence of spirituality is the search to know our true selves, to discover the real nature of consciousness. This quest has been the foundation of all the great spiritual teachings, and the goal of all the great mystics. It hopes to answer big questions like: “Who are we?” “Why are we here?” “What does it mean?” “Where are we going?” Throughout the history of humanity it has been said that the self we know -- the individual ego -- is a very limited form of identity. Ignorant of our true selves we derive a false sense of identity from what we have, or what we do -- from our possessions, our role in the world, how others see us, etc. Because the world on which it is based is continually changing, this derived sense of identity is always under threat, and our attempts to maintain it are responsible for much of our "self-centered" behavior. Behind this identity is a deeper identity, what is often called the "true self". This can be thought of as the essence of consciousness. Although our thoughts, feelings and personality may vary considerably, the essence of mind remains the same. We are each very different people than we were twenty years ago, but still we feel the same sense of "I". This sense of "I-ness" is the same for everyone, and in that respect is something universal that we all share. When we discover this deeper sense of self we are freed from many of the fears that plague us unnecessarily. We discover a greater inner peace, an inner security that does not depend upon events or circumstances in the world around. As a result we become less self-centered, less needy of the other's approval or recognition, less needy of collecting possessions and social status, and become happier, healthier and more loving people. In many spiritual teachings this is called "self-liberation". Most spiritual teachings also maintain that when one comes to know the true nature of consciousness, one also comes to know God. If God is the essence of the whole of creation, then God is the essence of every creature, and every person. This is why the search to discover the nature of one's own innermost essence is the search for God, Introduction to Positive thinking. Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds. Positive thinking can be one of the most powerful weapons one can have. We are living in a brutally competitive world where a minor slip can result into voyage to abyss. Each one of us has this constant need of love, admiration and acceptance. However, people often fall victim to outbursts, anger, fear and dislikes. All these elements are mere manifestations of our negative thoughts. But the thing with negativity is that, the more you express it, the more you attract it. That’s where power of positive thinking comes into the picture. This is not something to be underestimated and certainly not to be considered as a mere preaching tool of sages and holy men. If you can simply think in a positive way, you can most certainly affect the outcome of your actions. Whatever we do begins with a thought. We are always thinkingsomething or the other. So why not we should strive to incorporate this inevitable thought process in our lives in a positive way? Positive thinking is a virtue and a necessity in today’s world. The single attribute of positive thinking can help in making a difference to our lives and also to the people in our surroundings. Positive thought instigate positive attitude towards a task, which in turn changes the outcome. Health experts and psychologists have reiterated the virtue of positive thinking in our lives. It is the crucial foundation upon which a healthier, happier and longer life is build upon. It is important to identify negative thoughts as soon as they appear on the surface and bury them before they start taking root. The challenge is to apply mind and logics instead of emotions. Cultivate the hobby of positive thinking. Hang around with people who have a positive disposition towards life. Positivity is infectious and when you are surrounded by delightful people, you start feeling and behaving the same. We must live in the present. Most of our fears and insecurities arise from past regrets or future worries. Avoid sentences like ‘I wish I could have’ or ‘I wish I should have’. Past is gone and future comes when it comes. Present is what we have so we must make the most out of it. Develop a healthy eating and sleeping schedule. De- clutter your life and your home. Be natural and be happy with what you are and what you have. Focusing on what you have will make give you more happiness instead of pondering over what you lack. These simple suggestions will help you in developing positive thinking in your life.
