Abstract

The energy of the human mind is one of the greatest, but least understood energy resources of the universe. When we understand and harness this energy, we possess the keys to happiness and contentment as well as to improving our relationships and circumstances. The source of our feelings are our thoughts Our thoughts are mental energy. It emanates in the world and influences the matter and other living beings. That is why it is very important what kind of thoughts we have! With the help of our thoughts we have the ability to understand whatever we want. Human beings differ from animals in their ability to think. While both humans and animals are able to store and retrieve information in their brain, only human beings are able to use their brain for reasoning and problem solving. They are able to use the information available with them to take a decision. Studies have shown that different parts of the brain are active during different types of thought processes. Mind refers to the collective aspects of intellect and consciousness which are manifest in some combination of thought, perception, emotion, will and imagination. There are many theories of what the mind is and how it works, dating back to Plato, Aristotle and other Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers. Pre-scientific theories, which were rooted in theology, concentrated on the relationship between the mind and the soul, the supposed supernatural or divine essence of the human person. The question of which human attributes make up the mind is also much debated. Some argue that only the higher intellectual functions constitute mind: particularly reason and memory. In this view the emotions - love, hate, fear, joy - are more primitive or subjective in nature and should be seen as different in nature or origin to the mind. Others argue that the rational and the emotional sides of the human person cannot be separated, that they are of the same nature and origin, and that they should all be considered as part of the individual mind. A distinction is often made in the philosophy of mind between the mind and the brain, and there is some controversy as to their exact relationship, leading to the mind-body problem. The brain is defined as the physical and biological matter contained within the skull, responsible for all electrochemical neuronal processes. The mind, however, is seen in terms of mental attributes, such as beliefs or desires. Some believe that the mind exists in some way independently of the brain, such as in a soul or epiphenomenon. Others, such as strong AI theorists, say that the mind is directly analogous to computer software and the brain to hardware. Just like a computer requires hardware to perform its function. And the hardware needs the software to make it run. In our shoulder top computer, Brain is the hardware and mind is the software. The brain is the physical place where the mind resides. It is a vessel in which the electronic impulses that create thought are contained. With the brain you coordinate your moves, your organ system, your activities and transmit impulses. But you use the mind to think. The mind is the manifestations of thought, perception, emotion, determination, memory and imagination that takes place within the brain. Mind is often used to refer especially to the thought processes of reason. The mind is the awareness of consciousness we know, the ability to control what we do, and know what we are doing and why. It is the ability to understand. The brain is the organ of soft nervous tissue which fills the cranium of humans and other vertebrates. The mind, on the other hand, is the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences in it; it is the faculty of consciousness and thought. Brain can be touched and studied, but mind cannot be touched and seen. It is invisible. We all have very similar brains. The human brain is the supreme achievement of natural selection. It is infinitely more complex than any computer. With an average weight of only 3lb (1.36kg) this web of nerves, somehow manages to regulate all the body’s system and at the same time absorbs impressions from a continual intake of movement, feeling and memories. The brain, control center for movement, sleep, hunger and thirst. In fact, every activity is necessary for survival. Additionally all the emotions such as love, hate, elation etc. are also controlled through brain. But the mind is very unique to each of us. The mind is the music...the brain is the radio. The music is transmitted through the radio, it doesn't originate from it. There are three faculties of mind, namely mind, intellect and impressions. There are two parts of the Brain. They are left and the right brain. The left brain is used for logical and verbal reasoning. The right brain is used for creativity.
