Health is wealth. It is in our hand to create sound health. We are the best doctors to us. We can understand that a particular food is suitable for us, a particular climate is conducive and how our body is cooperative to maintaining sound health. We must be careful about the food we take. Food is the medicine for the body. In these day's certain food items are not required or require only in small quantities. Let us not live to eat but eat to live. Sattwic food items are good for maintaining better physical health. Vegetarian diet is found to be the best food for promoting the best physical health. Health has four dimensions. Proper maintenance of physical health is also dependent upon good mental health. Our thoughts have a role in endangering the physical health. Again our mental health has a role in creating better social health and spiritual health. Much attention is needed to be given to our thoughts. Negative, waste and vicious thoughts can upset the balance of the pathological system of the body and upset the physical health, while it can create bad inter human relationship and drive us away from God. Therefore, we must create and entertain only positive, pure and elevated thoughts. A thought can kill a person and a thought can heal a person. A thought can be given as an affection to a person, a thought can be given as an infection to a person. Among the 4 dimensions of health, we must take particular care in maintaining the best mental health which will regulate the food we need to take, the harmonious relationship we should forge with others, the need to pray and meditate. Even though spiritual health is the basis of all other health components, with a close look we can understand that the mind plays an important role in maintaining complete health. Food is composed of protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. A vegetarian diet provides all of these elements on the condition that it is well balanced and has variety. Most people, who have been vegetarian for a long period of time, are usually acquainted with the basics of good nutrition. Cultural dietary norms are often reflected in national disease trend statistics. For instance, people who eat primarily vegetarian diet will have a lower incidence of colorectal cancer, liver disease, heart disease and diabetes. In caring for our body, we require deep consideration. A vegetarian diet is recommended for both moral reasons (karma) and health reason. While many people fear they will not get enough protein from a vegetarian diet, there are millions of vegetarians who have survived and thrived on a meatless diet for many decades. With an understanding of the power and effect of vibrations and thoughts, attention is also given to the quality of our consciousness during the preparation of food, ensuring that only the highest spiritual vibrations enter the food during preparation. Addictive and harmful substances like alcohol non-prescription drugs and tobacco are avoided, as well as other ingredients that have a powerful effect on the body and consequently, on the mind(for example garlic and onion). Meditation is used to empower the self to release any unhealthy eating habits and achieve freedom from any addiction. t provides adequate protein It contains right choices of starches, It reflects knowledge of the value of saturated and unsaturated fats, It provides as much as variety of fresh produce as possible to provide a good quantity of vitamins.
