Abstract

The inability to deal adequately with normal social relationships is termed as Dysfunctional behaviour. People try to cope up this by mind altering or anxiety numbing substances like alcohol or drugs. Parental behaviour attitude is responsible for the children to depend on “enabler’s” parental double standards, verbal and physical abuses, single parent practices and corporate educational institutes have a severe psychological impact on children. As a teacher I come across various students who are not able to cope up with normal relations and I observed the depression level among them due to various factors which has driven me to choose this topic. As a member of “CRY” organization during 2004 – 2006 I was shocked at the data of child prostitutes in remote places of Kerala. Poverty and alcohol are snatching the right to educate from the children. In aristocracy families, parental double standard is driving their children to drug addiction emotional support is needed to develop healthy relationships.
